OmenaArt Foundation

Exhibition

From May 9th to June 25th, the Grand Charity Auction showcased a distinctive exhibition in the Orangery of the Wilanów Palace.

The OmenaArt Foundation, with its concerted efforts, brought to Poland one of Spain’s most celebrated sculptures: Manolo Valdés’s “Reina Mariana.” This was the inaugural presentation of this illustrious artwork in Poland, an opportunity to marvel at a piece previously featured in renowned collections across the globe, from Paris and Barcelona to New York and the Venice Biennale.

The exhibition also introduced works by the Korean artist Chun Kwang Young, marking their first appearance in Poland. Pieces by Magdalena Abakanowicz, particularly two outdoor sculptures, loaned by the Centre for Polish Sculpture in Orońsko, drew significant attention. Another significant piece, titled “Figure with Open Arms”, was provided by the Polswiss Art Auction House. Additionally, the exhibition displayed select pieces from private collectors, including artwork by Xawery Wolski.

The design of the exhibition space was overseen by renowned set designer Boris Kudlička, who gained international fame for his spectacular opera productions. The event was curated by the notable Polish art historian Hanna Wróblewska, who also held the esteemed position of commissioner for the Polonia Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. Further cementing her credentials, she serves as the Deputy Director of Research and Exhibitions at the Warsaw Ghetto Museum.
