TOP CHARITY Venice Experience continues this tradition by creating an event in which art becomes a space for dialogue, education and meaningful action.

The theme of this year’s edition is Ethiopia – a country with an exceptionally rich history, culture and artistic heritage, and at the same time an important point of reference in the contemporary dialogue between Africa and Europe. The story of Ethiopia takes us from the history of the Queen of Sheba and centuries of cultural exchange to contemporary art, which is making an increasingly strong presence on the international scene.

The exhibition brings together works by artists representing different generations, experiences and artistic languages. Alongside established names from the American and European contemporary art scene, such as Andy Warhol, Xawery Wolski and Ewa Czwartos, the exhibition features artists connected with Africa, including Tegene Kunbi, Cornelius Annor, Raphael Adjetey Adjei Mayne and LR Vandy. Together, their works create a multifaceted narrative about memory, identity, heritage, relationships and the transformations taking place between cultures.

An important work in the exhibition is also Katie Jones by Andy Warhol – a portrait of a collector, photographer and patron of the arts. The work reminds us that art history is shaped not only by artists, but also by those who choose to support them, collect their work and create opportunities for culture to flourish.

A special place is given to the work of Tegene Kunbi, one of Ethiopia’s most significant contemporary artists, who in 2026 represents Ethiopia at the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, presenting his project Shapes of Silence. His painting combines intense colour, texture and textile elements inspired by Ethiopian traditions and ritual practices. The artist explores themes of memory, spirituality, identity and cultural heritage. Kunbi’s presence gives the exhibition a particular dimension: Ethiopia is not merely a geographical point of reference, but a living culture and a contemporary artistic voice.

The exhibition has been conceived not only as a presentation of exceptional works of art, but also as an invitation to discover the artists, their stories and the cultures from which their work emerges. Bringing together artists from different continents allows us to look at contemporary art as a space for the exchange of experiences and perspectives.

The history and culture of Ethiopia play a particularly important role in this context. Through art, we can explore its heritage and contemporary identity, as well as the ways in which African artists today tell their own stories – in their own language and beyond simplified stereotypes.

Education thus becomes part of collecting. Learning about a work of art, its creator, materials, symbols and cultural context allows us to see art not merely as an object, but above all as a carrier of history and ideas.

In 2026, TOP CHARITY is organising an international auction outside Poland for the first time. In Venice, works by outstanding African and European artists will be brought together alongside exceptional pieces of particular significance to the art world.

Every work sold at auction becomes part of a larger story – a story in which the value of art translates into tangible support for other people.

Since 2022, TOP CHARITY has demonstrated that art and philanthropy can reinforce one another, directing funds towards cultural, educational and social initiatives.

Taking part in the auction therefore means more than the opportunity to acquire an exceptional work of art. It is also a conscious decision to help create positive change through art.
