Pablo Atchugarry is a globally renowned artist best known for his monumental works. Untitled is a sculpture that powerfully illustrates his deep connection with marble—a material the artist describes as his “first true love.” Known for his tall, flowing forms, Atchugarry creates shapes that appear to float in space, despite being carved from heavy stone. The sculpture conveys a sense of lightness, achieved through his expert surface shaping and intuitive understanding of the medium.

Drawing upon Greek, Roman and Renaissance traditions, and inspired by artists such as Brâncuși and Henry Moore, Atchugarry brings a modern approach to working with marble. Every curve and layer is shaped entirely by hand, without the use of machines or assistants. As he explains: “That is what differentiates me. I work with the material, always hands-on, every day. I strive to discover the message within the material. I have absolutely no detachment from my sculpture. I create intentionally and directly.”

Pablo Atchugarry (b. 1954) is an artist, who frequently works with Carrara white marble, black marble, pink and grey stone, as well as bronze with patina finishes and ceramics. His works have been exhibited at prestigious institutions including the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires, the Pérez Art Museum in Miami, and the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, USA. His monumental marble sculptures are displayed in public spaces across South America and Europe.
