Supporting this institution aligns with the Foundation’s mission: building international partnerships in which art, education, and philanthropy become tools for real change.

The collaboration was announced at the White Cube gallery in London, with attendees including Omenaa Mensah, Rafał Brzoska, and Jay Jopling, founder of White Cube. During the event, the partnership agreement was announced and the artists whose works will join the Obama Presidential Center collection were honored — including Julie Mehretu and the late Richard Hunt.
The Obama Presidential Center will be a place where culture, education, democracy and civic action intersect with a single goal: empowering people and inspiring them to drive positive change. The 19-acre campus will include a museum, educational facilities, gardens, a library, an auditorium, and spaces for civic and sports activities. More than 25 artworks created by international artists will be installed throughout the public areas of the campus. The exhibition and installation program is intended to reflect Barack and Michelle Obama’s legacy and their belief in art as a tool for inclusion and open social dialogue.
